The cause of her death could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report. Findings however revealed that the late singer was diagnosed with hole-in-heart during her first pregnancy which she was quoted to have said miraculously got healed..............................

Corn syrup is the number one ingredient that makes us fat

This one ingredient is in almost all of our processed foods.


It’s in our soft drinks and juices, hamburgers and chicken, cookies and cakes, breads and crackers, yogurt and granola bars, pizza and fast foods and it’s making us fat.

Too Much of a Bad Thing


Most of our processed foods are being sweetened with the cheap and abundant high fructose corn syrup (HFCS).



When it was first introduced in the early 1970s, we consumed about 450 grams (one pound) per year.



Today we eat almost 27 kilos (60 pounds) per person per year.


An Epidemic



Scientists like Professor George Bray have been studying the effects of HFCS for many years.


As former executive director of the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA, and a former chair of the International Obesity Task Force, Bray had first hand experience with the growing epidemic and wrote about his findings in The Handbook of Obesity.



"Fructose is absorbed differently.



It doesn't register in the body metabolically the same way that glucose does.



It is a carbohydrate fat equivalent (that’s how I look at it) and the rise in high fructose corn-syrup is on top of the obesity epidemic," said Bray.

CURRY IS MUCH, MUCH MORE, THAN JUST AN EXOTIC FLAVOURING!!!

Scientists say this exotic compound kills cancer cells


A molecule found in a curry ingredient can kill esophageal cancer cells in the laboratory, suggesting it might be developed as an anti-cancer treatment, scientists said recently.



Researchers at the Cork Cancer Research Center in Ireland treated esophageal cancer cells with curcumin, a chemical found in the spice turmeric, which gives curries a distinctive yellow color, and found it started to kill cancer cells within 24 hours.



The cells also began to digest themselves, they said in a study published in the British Journal of Cancer.




Previous scientific studies have suggested curcumin can suppress tumors and that people who eat lots of curry may be less prone to the disease, although curcumin loses its anti-cancer attributes quickly when ingested.




But Sharon McKenna, lead author of the Irish study, said her study suggested a potential for scientists to develop curcumin as an anti-cancer drug to treat esophageal cancer.

MORE MILITARY PRESNCE IN FCT- ABUJA, NIGERIA

Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Onyeabor Ihejirika disclosed yesterday that the huge number of the deployment of heavily armed troops in and around Abuja was not occasioned by fears of another bomb attack akin to the one witnessed at the Police Force headquarters, but a necessary security measure aimed at protecting lives and property.
Speaking during the Pulling Out Parade in honour of the first 3-star General of Igbo extraction from the Nigeria Army, Lt. General Isaac Chikadibia Obiakor, the immediate past Military Adviser/Assistant Secretary General to the United Nations, Gen. Ihejirika said; ”henceforth, their would be increased military presence in the FCT particularly as it concerned protection of federal government assets, national institutions and the citizenry. The army have to ensure the protection of lives and property and this will be seen from time to time”.
Saturday Vanguard observed the presence of heavy troops in places like NNPC headquarters, the Central Bank head-quarters’, ministries, Eagle Square , the 3 -Arms zone, including the office of the Secretary to the Federation, National Assembly, the Millennium Park , big hotels, major road junctions and other important monuments.

One of such surprises is taking her unawares, she could be in another room, sewing, reading, doing anything, or even in the kitchen cooking, not expecting you. You would then rush in, give her a tight hug, kiss her and tell her how much you love her and how much she means to you. This act would come as a shock, but I tell you, she would be the happiest of all. You could also buy her gifts occasionally, don't wait till it's her birthday, valentines day, or any other special occasion. Surprise her with a pretty gift when she's not expecting anything, this will reassure her that she means a lot to you. 


3.DO CHORES AROUND THE HOUSE WITHOUT BEING TOLD:
In today's society, a lot more women are working full time jobs, besides the job of being a wife and a mother. Even though it is the responsibility of the wife to take care of household chores like laundry and so on; you as the husband ought to recognize the pressure involved, the hard work; so it would only be fair or rather loving of you to once in a while, do some chores to help out. Now tell me, what woman wouldn't appreciate coming home to a clean house, where most of the chores or all of it are done.


4. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR WIFE AND LISTEN:
Often times most women just want to talk and be listened to when they have problems and not have it fixed like most men do when their wives complain of one thing or the other. Also, women love attention and do not like being ignored. So when next your wife wants to talk to you about something, be it important or not, make sure you give her a 100% attention, and not stare at the TV or do something else. Respond positively and always show that you're interested in whatever she has to say. When you do this, you are only telling her that she means more to you than every other thing around you.


5. TAKE HER OUT ON A DATE:
These days a lot of married men overlook this important part of marriage. Before a couple get married, they spend time to go on dates, so as to get to know more about each other, and decide if it's best to spend the rest of their lives together . After marriage, most men see it as unnecessary to plan dates with their wives, for they feel, "why take her on a date, we're married now, I know all there is to know about her" moreover you don't have that time anymore. Now this is a wrong notion; every woman wants to feel special at all times, no matter how long you've been married, your wife will always yearn for you to see her as being special . So make out time, plan dates with her, make it special by taking her to those places you used to go to while courting. It would only bond you guys together much more and make her happy.

 Finally, all you husbands and yet to be husbands need to know one thing; no one can replace your wife, she will always be yours. These steps may seem simple, but I'm very confident that if practiced, would only put more spark and even romance into your marriages. So do the right thing and make your wives happy.
